Dr. Mina is one of the few board certified orthodontists in San Diego area. She has been practicing dentistry since 2009 and orthodontics since 2017. She has treated many kids and adults with complex orthodontic conditions such as cleft lip and palate, mal-alignmnets of the jaws requiring orthognathic surgery, impacted teeth, airway deficiencies and individuals with missing teeth combined with restorative dental treatments. She has extensive experience with clear aligners and other fixed and removable orthodontic appliances. It is for these reasons we are elated to have her as our Poway Orthodontist!
Our goal is to make our patients and their families happy and comfortable when coming to our office. We provide a clean & relaxing environment. We have a comfortable reception area with comfortable chairs, TV and iPads for kids to play. Our treatment area is open and spacious featuring comfortable benches, TV and large windows. You are more than welcome to stay with your kids when they are in the treatment area.
Our Poway Orthodontist uses the latest technology in our practice to ensure the best and most efficient treatment is being delivered to you. We are an impression free office which means we do not ever use molds that are very uncomfortable. Instead, we use a digital 3 dimensional scanner that is extremely more accurate and comfortable. Our patients can see their teeth on the screen immediately and we can review the orthodontic issues immediately. After scanning the mouth we use our three dimensional printer and print dental models. This technology allows us to make clear aligners and clear retainers instantly in the office. Our patients do not need to wait weeks to receive these appliances.
Send your Poway Orthodontist a message, even if you just want to say hello!
Orthodontics is one of the many specializations that can greatly benefit your oral health, as it deals with dental alignment and correcting problems with jaw growth. Orthodontics will help you correct problems with dental malalignment or jaw positioning and promote better dental health. Likewise, this specialized treatment is something that can help restore the proper function of your dental structures and improve your quality of life.
An orthodontist is a specialist in charge of your dental alignment treatment plan. As a dental health specialist, the idea is to develop a treatment plan that gradually and safely realigns your teeth. It’s also supposed to move your jaws slowly so they can achieve a proper relation between them, and you recover proper function when biting down, talking, and even swallowing.
According to the American Association of Orthodontists, everyone should visit an orthodontist by age 7 because this is a time when your orthodontist can review your dental development and identify any signs of developing orthodontic conditions while there’s still time to address them and create a treatment plan that’s as comfortable as possible for the patient. Please keep in mind that going to the orthodontist around age 7 doesn’t mean getting braces right away; instead, this stage leads to proper dental development oversight to achieve peak treatment efficiency.
One of the most important things about orthodontics is that it’s a non-invasive treatment option you can start without an age limit. While it does require several months to achieve the desired results, it is one of the safest treatment options available to anyone who requires dental realignment. Also, you should take into consideration that you’ll have to pay close attention to several instructions given by your orthodontist to avoid orthodontic emergencies.
This will highly depend on your specific coverage, as not all dental insurance plans cover orthodontic treatment options. Even some that do might only cover traditional metal braces because they consider some options to be cosmetic treatments. Please, make sure to stay in touch with your chosen orthodontist and their team to explore how your insurance coverage can make treatment more affordable.
